Saved to Serve
1. Those who are saved by grace serve by faith.
Joshua 1:2: "Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel."
Joshua 24:29: After these things Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died, being 110 years old.
2 Timothy 1:9: who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began
Titus 3:5: he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,
Disregard the study of God, and you sentence yourself to stumble and blunder through life blindfolded. -- JI Packer (Knowledge of the Holy)
2. Those who are saved by grace serve with hope.
1 John 5:20: And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
"Once you become aware that the main business that you are here for is to know God, most of life's problems fall into place of their own accord." JI Packer (Knowledge of the Holy)
"Whatever God has said in the divine purpose is never changed. The decrees of God were not written upon sand but upon the eternal brass of His unchangeable nature. We may truly say of the sealed book of the decrees, “Has he said, and will he not do it? And has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?” (Num 23:19) " C.H Spurgeon
3. Those who are saved by grace serve in love.
